Family members of a person who has a developmental or intellectual disability are encouraged to attend this meeting of the Friendship Community Family Support Fellowship.
“Should I disinherit my child in order for him to be eligible for services?
“How can I include my child in my estate plans?”
These are questions frequently asked by family members of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The purpose of this presentation is to educate families about the legal options available to provide for the care and protection of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Attorney Marci S. Miller of Gibbel Kraybill & Hess LLP will address some frequently asked questions and provide guidance to families to help them make informed decisions about planning for today and the future. (Marci works with individuals and families to create and implement estate plans that address clients’ specific needs and goals, incorporating the use of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advanced healthcare directives, and other planning techniques in case of incapacity. In addition, Marci represents Executors and Trustees in their fiduciary capacities and assists them to properly and effectively administer estates and trusts.)
