Message of Hope Shared at Banquets

Disability Advocate Mike King Haverstick Winner Vince Wilson Haverstick Winner David Drybred Mike King with Friendship Staff

Disability Advocate Mike King shared his message of hope to over 750 guests at Friendship's anniversary events held on October 24th & 25th.  Mike challenged the audience to not only keep hope in their lives but to reach out and share that hope with others.

King is best known for, 'The Challenge of a Lifetime', his wheelchair trek from Fairbanks, Alaska to Washington D.C.  His book, The Mike King Story (available on amazon.com) is the story of his amazing trip.

Mike is a wheelchair athlete.  He was in the Pan American Games and was 1992 Gold Medalist in Caracas, Venezuela and finished 5th in the World Games in Asun, Holland.  Mike currently works for Joni and Friends as Community Resource Coordinator.

Thank you to all who supported our fundraising event!

Mark your calendars for next year when founder of Auntie Anne's Pretzel, Anne Beiler, shares her story of success - October 23rd & 24th.
