Ten Thousand Villages Community Shopping Night

Details: During this time 15% of your sales are given to support the ministries of Friendship Community. This is a wonderful way to support both ministries and get some of your Christmas shopping done!
Friendship Community's shopping night at Ten Thousand Villages will include live holiday music by the Friendship Singers and refreshments for all shoppers. For more information, call Betty Hess at (717) 656-2466, ext 165.
Ten Thousand Villages, located at 240 North Reading Road (Rt 272 in Ephrata), is a fair trade retailer of artisan-crafted home decor, personal accessories and gift items from across the globe. Featuring products from more than 130 artisan groups in some 37 countries, the Ephrata store is part of a network of more than 156 retail stores throughout the United States selling Ten Thousand Villages products. For more than 60 years, Ten Thousand Villages has been establishing long–term buying relationships in places where skilled artisans lack opportunities for stable income. All artisans are paid fairly for their products. Ten Thousand Villages is also home to an Oriental rug gallery with more than 2,000 handknotted rugs all crafted by fairly paid adults. Each rug is one of a kind, with designs ranging from intricate florals and geometric shapes to hand-spun, naturally dyed tribals. The Cafe at Ten Thousand Villages features a fair trade espresso bar, fair trade
coffees and teas and other specialty drinks along with soups, salads, quiches,

Place: Hempfield Church of the Brethren, 1186 Stevens Street, Manheim, PA
Details: A Christmas pageant and worship service by adults with disabilities. It is open to the public. Punch and cookies will be served after the service. Admission is free. Offerings will be split between the ministry of WORDD (Worship Opportunities Reaching the Developmentally Disabled) and Friendship Community.
Light the Way
Date: Monday, December 6, 2010
Time: 7 pm
Place: 1149 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA
Details: A Christmas Memorial Candlelight Service to remember family and friends who are no longer here to celebrate with us and to celebrate the important people in our lives. Lights can be dedicated with a donation of $10. This is an outdoor service and is held regardless of the weather. Please dress accordingly. Hot chocolate and donuts are served after the service. Admission is free.
