Fun FEST Facts Coming Soon! Despite the inclimate weather, FEST 2008 went smoothly! The rainy weather on Friday increased the popularity of the drive-thru chicken BBQ. Although many diners chose to eat their delicious Yost BBQ under the festive red and white tent. The Horst Brothers with their Gospel/Bluegrass music entertained a large crowd after the evening auction. After the concert many people enjoyed soft serve ice cream despite the chillly temperature. God graced our day on Saturday's with a variety of weather! Oregon Dairy so generously sponsored the tasty pancake and sausage breakfast. The tethered hot air balloon rides were able to take place which gave breakfast diners a beautiful view of the vivid red hot air balloon. Thanks to Oregon Dairy and the US Hot Air Balloon Team for their energy and giving spirit so early in the morning. Throughout the day, guests were able to bid on items during both silent and live auctions. Baked goods, plants, crafts and gift certificates were available to purchase as well. The heART of Friendship sold art pieces and made more connections with other artists. Children enjoyed the many activities at the kid's tent; treasure hunts, craft-making, games and pirates making balloon characters! The food tent offered a wide variety of items. Some favorites were Ethiopian and Caribbean foods, as well as the hot chicken corn soup which helped to warm the bellies of our over 2,000 guests! Thank you to all who attended and contributed to the success of FEST 2008!!!! |
