Respite Care of Friendship Community
The Forest Hills Home in Leola was purchased in 2006 to develop and provide
respite care.
The home is staffed by Friendship Community staff members who
live at the home.
In addition to this house, there are trained
Friendship Community staff people who are willing to come to your home or have
your loved one with intellectual disabilities come to the staff person’s home
for short breaks. There are times when
caregivers need a break.
Respite Services provide short term care in your home
or at one of our Respite Care Provider homes. This can be for care when the caregiver needs a short break
or vacation or other times when the caregiver is not able to care for
their family member with developmental or intellectual disabilities for a limited time.
Respite Care can be paid for privately or through P/FDS (Person
and Family Directed Support waiver funds). Costs

At a
Respite Provider’s house-$120-150 per day based on needs of the
individual

At your
home-
o
$25 per hour for
first 6 hours with minimum of $100.
o
$18 per awake
hour for the remainder of the day.
o
$40 per night of
sleepover if staff works over 5 hours before sleep or $80 per night of sleep if
staff works less then 5 hours before sleep. Contact
