Happy Holidays from Friendship Community!

How is it December already and 2022 is only a few weeks away? It seems like we were just holding our FEST, 5k & Chicken BBQ and here we are about to have our first meeting next week for that exact event in 2022. With the holiday season upon us, we wanted to reflect on the last year and all of the blessings we’ve had.

We welcomed new individuals into some of our residential homes and they have been adjusting nicely to their new routines and have made friends with their housemates. Also, our individuals have been able to safely return to their day programs and jobs in some capacity. They have also been able to get out of the house and visit friends, their favorite places like Hershey Park, or visiting someplace new like New York City! Milt was able to hold his first in-person Aktion Club meeting this past summer – though some got/were rained out!

Additionally, we are so blessed that even in the midst of a global pandemic, our teams have been able to adapt to the constant changes that have been made and have worked together to better support our individuals. Our Fund-A-Need initiatives allowed us to purchase new CPR mannequins, which allow for more accurate practice and testing to ensure Team Members are learning proper technique. Lastly, thanks to our generous supporters, we were able to raise $89,400 during The Extra Give – far exceeding the amount raised in previous years. We couldn’t have done that without you!

So with that, we want to say thank you to all of you and we are wishing you the happiest of holidays – from our family to yours!
