Gwen Schuit – Chief Executive Officer

Gwen Schuit started her career at Friendship Community as CEO five years ago. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters Degree in Education from Widener College. She worked in direct care through college and seemed to always be given leadership roles. After working as a hospital nurse, Gwen taught Neurology and Rehab Nursing. She earned a Nursing Home Administrator’s License from Millersville University and worked in Retirement Community Administration for over 15 years prior to joining FC. She also worked as a CARF-CCAC Surveyor for eight years, which allowed her to give back to the healthcare industry. She appreciates being able to serve on a couple of Boards that support non-profit work. At FC, Gwen enjoys influencing positive change and outcomes. She loves being an integral part of team development and mentoring eager learners. She is a lifetime student and appreciates learning from others on a daily basis. Gwen continues to thank the Lord for her husband, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, as well as her sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. They truly have helped her to become who she is and who she is still becoming. Gwen loves to spend time with her granddaughter and also enjoys being outdoors, sharing sunrises and sunsets with her family, hiking adventures, gardening or reading a great book. Gwen loves to go to horse shows and attend musicals and appreciates different types of art and strives to create masterpieces for fun.
Robert Redcay – Director of Human Resources

Robert Redcay – Director of Human Resources

Robert Redcay started his career at Friendship Community in 2000 as the Director of Human Resources. Prior to 2000, Bob worked in both the mental health and substance abuse fields for over 15 years as a Licensed Social Worker. He and his wife also worked as Houseparents at Philhaven’s halfway house from 1981-1984. He holds two Social Work degrees. His undergraduate work was completed at Eastern Mennonite University and graduate work at Marywood College. Bob believes in the Mission of Friendship Community, and finds it very fulfilling to be part of a Christian-based not-for-profit that is serving others by creating a quality of life for them. He enjoys all the variety that consists in his job, as well as the opportunity to collaborate and learn from other professionals. He and his wife have been married for over 35 years, and have two children. Their daughter teaches high school history in Massachusetts and their son is continuing his engineering career in Philadelphia and nearby New Jersey. In his spare time, Bob’s passions include bicycling, creating works of art - some of which he exhibits at the Friendship Heart Gallery, volunteering at church and reading for continued professional growth.
Cynthia Beebe – Director of Development

Cynthia Beebe – Director of Development


Cynthia Beebe began her work with Friendship Community in 2004 as a Development Associate, and in 2012, she was promoted as the Director of Development. Cynthia obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Media Studies, with a concentration in Radio/TV/Film/Advertising from Temple University. At FC, she enjoys networking and partnering with local businesses, churches and Individuals to raise funds to support the ministry of FC. She thrives on the opportunity to find creative ways to support, promote and advocate Individuals with disabilities within the community. The Individuals served by FC have taught her humanity, humility, joy, gratitude, unconditional love and the art of living in the moment. Cynthia has two children; a daughter in college and a son in high school. While not working, Cynthia is fulfilled by volunteering, reading, spending time in Ocean City, New Jersey, gardening, sailing, attending stage and dance productions, and time with family. Cynthia is inspired daily by Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".
Chuck Condran – Director of Finance

Chuck Condran – Director of Finance

Chuck Condran began his career with Friendship Community in September 2013 as the Director of Finance. He studied Finance and grew in his experiences in the hospital and healthcare arena prior to entering the complex world of human services. Chuck and his wife, Candy, have three sons and one daughter and are now enjoying their empty nest with three grandchildren who keep them quite busy. Chuck also enjoys hiking and hunting and spending time outdoors.
Michelle Butler – Director of Operations

Michelle Butler started her career at Friendship Community in 2007 as a Direct Support Professional and Houseparent at one of our Millersville community homes. Prior to 2007, Michelle and her family were natives of Elmira, NY, where she worked in the Human Services field serving Individuals with intellectual disabilities since 1995. Since beginning her journey at Friendship Community, she has had the privilege of serving in various direct care and leadership roles, and has continually dedicated herself to making a positive impact on others’ lives, all for the glory of God. Michelle has grown along with the organization and is honored to serve as the Director of Operations as we continue as a community in the quest of “Impacting the World with Capabilities.” Michelle has an AAS degree in Human Services from Corning Community College and has completed a BA program in Organizational Leadership at Eastern University. She aspires to continue her educational journey to further her pursuit of professional and personal development. Michelle has been married to her best friend, Chuck, since 1997, and they have two beautiful young adult daughters, Desirae and Emelia, who are steadfastly fulfilling their hopes and dreams.
