However\, we are thrilled to introduce an exciting new way to participate while continuing to make a difference together! \nIn honor of Autism Awareness Month\, we invite you to join us in walking\, wheeling or running 24 miles throughout April. Each mile represents one of our 24 residential group homes serving adults with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. \nWhat Is the Miles for Friendship Challenge? \nThis unique virtual event is an opportunity to come together during Autism Awareness Month to support adults with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. By moving 24 miles\, you’re honoring the incredible individuals in our 24 residential group homes while raising awareness about their needs and contributions. The funds raised through this challenge will help sustain our programs and empower these individuals to thrive in a supportive community. Each step you take brings us closer to building a brighter future for everyone that Friendship Community supports. \nHere’s what to expect: \nTrack Your Progress: Log your daily steps or mileage through our online platform. You can walk at your own pace\, and at a location that is best for you. Outside\, on a treadmill … with a friend\, or solo. This is YOUR challenge to embrace. \nLength of Time:  The challenge is open from April 1st – 30th\, 2025. You have 30 days to log 24 miles of movement! \nInteractive Map: Watch your icon move across the map as you complete miles\, introducing you to Heart Artist murals. These murals are lovingly created by the talented participants in our Friendship Heart Gallery & Studio programs. \nFundraising Opportunity: You’ll have the chance to create a personal fundraising page to spread awareness and raise much-needed funds to support our mission. Every dollar raised truly makes a powerful difference\, empowering endless possibilities for all we serve. \nSpecial Rewards: A t-shirt is already included with your registration (Until March 1st) . A Christmas memory unlike any other! \nPart of the many life enrichment activities organized by Friendship Community\, this is an event of the “Expressions of Love and Praise” Worship Service series.  “Expressions of Love and Praise” is a worship experience designed to offer people with Intellectual Disability and Autism the opportunity to use their gifts and talents as praise to God. Enck Memorial Golf Tournament Thursday\, September 12\, 2024 at Foxchase Golf Club\, 300 Stevens Road\, Stevens\, PA 17578. The cost is $500 per foursome. Price includes greens fees\, golf cart use\, lunch\, and unlimited snacks and drinks throughout the course. Add-on’s\, including mulligans and other helpers\, in addition to tickets for raffle prizes\, are available for purchase on the registration website and will also be available the day of the event. Sponsorships are also being accepted at this time. Oregon Rd\, Lititz\, PA 17543. This Grand Open House will be held on Tuesday\, August 27th\, 2024 from 4-7pm. The Grand Open House event is a drop-in with a weaving demonstration taking place from 5-6pm. Attached you will find a formal invitation to the event so please feel free to share this with anyone who may be interested! While at the Grand Open House\, learn more about current Studio openings and admissions for adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. We invite YOU to join us for an evening of socialization\, exploration of our current Studio admissions process\, learning about our new Studio mediums\, and engaging in various activities including a photo room and paint by number project. Our goal in hosting this Grand Open House is to invite any interested adults with intellectual disabilities and autism to check out what the Friendship Heart Studios are about (Lancaster and East Oregon). We would also love for Supports Coordinators in Pennsylvania to learn what the Studios have to offer and how to begin the Studio admissions process with adults with IDD and autism. \n\nWe hope you will consider joining us for this special event and bring any interested individuals with autism or IDD to learn more about the Friendship Heart Studios. Individuals from the surrounding community are welcome to participate! An example of some of the activities is bingo\, minute-to-win-it games\, karaoke\, charades\, water games (weather permitting during the summer)\, tabletop hot potato and more!
