Live-in Direct Support Professional
The live-in direct support professional (DSP) is a full-time live-in position, in which the team member will work a second shift schedule (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) and will be expected to work every other weekend.
RESPONSIBILITY:
A. Assisting individuals in daily routines through dressing, bathing, eating/feeding, toileting, exercises, etc., as needed.
B. Assisting individuals with their mobility by the use of walking aids, lifting, splints, positioning, and transferring them through safe and approved techniques up to 50 lbs. Be familiar with the C. use of mechanical lifts if available in the home.
D. Assisting the individuals in food preparation and in kitchen duties, teaching appropriate skills.
E. Assisting the individuals in-room care and general housecleaning, teaching appropriate skills.
F. Maintaining ongoing knowledge and adherence to the Individual’s care plan.
G. Reporting symptoms, concerns, or medical observations to the residential manager, nurse on duty, or designated agency personnel.
H. After becoming med trained, administering medications to the individuals as prescribed.
I. Transporting individuals to and from activities using Friendship Community vehicles.
J. Assisting with the general upkeep of the home.
K. Attending team meetings, in-services and other required trainings. Also read the minutes of those meetings.
L. Other duties as assigned, depending on the home.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time live-in position, in which the team member will work a second shift schedule (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) and will be expected to work every other weekend.
BENEFITS:
As a full-time direct support professional, you will be eligible for the below benefits at 60 days.
A. Medical insurance: $40 bi-weekly medical benefits for individuals, $50 bi-weekly medical benefits for family. Eligible after 60-day waiting period.
B. Ancillary benefits (ex. dental, vision, etc.) provided through Lincoln Financial. Friendship Community provides a defined annual contribution that full-time team members can use towards ancillary benefits each year. The 2024 defined contribution is $150, which totals $5.77 per pay. Eligible after 60 day waiting period.
C. Paid time off: Accrues per pay period, can be used immediately.
D. Sick time: Accrues per pay period, can be used immediately.
E. Retirement: Team member is able to contribute to 403(b) retirement plan after 30 days.
F. Holiday pay (full-time status): 7 paid holidays—New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday (or Good Friday for team members who do not normally work weekends), Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas

COMPENSATION:
$14.50/hour
