Human Resource Generalist
The human resource (HR) generalist role is a professional, full-time position to support functions within the human resources department.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Accountable to the associate director of HR.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Bachelor’s degree preferred and at least a year of experience in related field.
B. Highly organized and detail oriented.
C. Able to take initiative and work independently.
3. Able to maintain confidentiality.
4. Able to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
5. Able to demonstrate good public relations.
6. Able to be flexible and work as an effective team member.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
RESPONSIBILITY:
A. Demonstrate a respectful positive attitude that promotes service excellence to individuals, fellow team members (TMs), families and/or the general public.
B. Assist with management of benefits as assigned.
C. Onboarding of newly hired team members via contact within 30 days.
D. Manage/monitor FMLA time off per Federal Policy.
E. Assist with HR Orientation harassment training.
F. Conduct monthly: LEIE, SAM, and DPW Medicheck background checks on all current team members and vendors and calculate and record DSP vacancy rates.
G. Screen applicants for non-direct care employment opportunities and follow-up with appropriate department(s).
H. Schedule and facilitate direct care exit interviews.
I. Tracking of professional development plans and bi-annual physicals.
J. Serve as the back-up recruiter for external direct care applicants and at job fairs.
K. Other duties as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time, salaried non-exempt position. It requires a 40-hour workweek between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with the flexibility of being available for occasional evening and/or weekend meetings.
BENEFITS:
As a full-time human resources generalist, you will be eligible for the below benefits at 60 days.
A. Medical insurance: $40 bi-weekly medical benefits for individuals, $50 bi-weekly medical benefits for family. Eligible after 60-day waiting period.
B. Ancillary benefits (ex. dental, vision, etc.) provided through Lincoln Financial. Friendship Community provides a defined annual contribution that full-time team members can use towards ancillary benefits each year. The 2024 defined contribution is $150, which totals $5.77 per pay. Eligible after 60 day waiting period.
C. Paid time off: Accrues per pay period, can be used immediately.
D. Sick time: Accrues per pay period, can be used immediately.
E. Retirement: Team member is able to contribute to 403(b) retirement plan after 30 days.
F. Holiday pay (full-time status): 7 paid holidays—New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday (or Good Friday for team members who do not normally work weekends), Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas

COMPENSATION:
$21.00/hour
