Thank You...
For supporting our annual Irvin C. Enck Memorial Golf Tournament - one of our most fun fundraising events of the year! The weather was beautiful which made for perfect golf day. Friendship Community's CEO, Mary Ellen Farber, gave the opening remarks before all of the golfers started with their shotgun scramble. We were fortunate to host 114 golfers and are grateful they chose to spend their morning with us. Individuals from Friendship Community, including Doreen, Brett, and Todd, traveled around the course with their team members to mingle, while individual, Elise spent time by the putting green, welcoming participants of the putting contest.
Once all golfers were finished up with their round, everyone gathered at the pavilion for a special program hosted by Milt Stoltzfus. He conducted interviews with Brett, Todd, and Elise, highlighting where their support is directed—toward these remarkable individuals. Be it through our residential services or day services, all of the monies raised through this event go to support the many individuals of Friendship Community. Afterward, we revealed the winner of the Golf Ball Roll, sponsored by Blue Ridge Communications. Two team members from Friendship Community and two from Blue Ridge Communications each held a basket of numbered golf balls, rolling them toward the 18th hole. Although no golf balls made it in this year, we extend our congratulations to golf ball #6 for being the closest to the hole and winning the $200 cash prize! The winner has been informed and has collected their reward.
For the second consecutive year, thanks to our generous sponsors Ames Construction, Ames Mechanical and Eby Exteriors, we proudly hosted another free putting contest. Each golfer had the opportunity to compete for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to the Fox Chase Pro Shop. Additionally, all participants received a complimentary sleeve of golf balls. At the conclusion of the event, Patrick Scarborough from Ames Construction and Todd from Friendship Community selected the winner of the putting contest!
While lunch was being served, raffle winners were selected and golf winners were announced with prizes being handed out. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and dessert buffet before heading out from an early but immensely fun day. We are immensely grateful to all who participated by golfing, purchasing golf balls, buying raffle tickets, volunteering, sponsoring, or supporting this event in any capacity. Your generous contributions are vital for us to assist the many individuals at Friendship Community, especially with the growing gap between government funding and actual service costs. We hope you'll consider joining us for golf next year and stay tuned for our upcoming events:
-Annual Appeal, Faithful Give and Extra Give (Happening Now)
-Annual Art Benefit Auction (March 2025)
-Annual Talent Night and Fest, 5k and 10k (May 2025)
We want to extend a huge thank you to groups who donated goods towards or supported a specific piece of the golf tournament
